A Smattering of Awesomeness

Blog 6: First official London weekend
Saturday morning my friends and I woke up early and went to West End Live, which is a free outdoor festival in Trafalgar Square. The shows that are currently on the west end do 15 minute performances each on the big stage. We got to hear songs from Let it Be, Once, Wicked, Les Mis, Matilda and many more! It was a lot of fun, but it was just the beginning of us spending 9 hours on our feet.

After the show we went to the Borough Market which was a beautiful outdoor market full of delicious looking food! We walked around a bit and sampled a few things, and then ended up eating at a cafe across the street because we needed to sit!

After lunch we went to the Natural History museum which was full of some amazing artifacts! We really enjoyed seeing all of the skeletons of dinosaurs and I conveniently skipped the room on spiders. They also had a giant earth that you walked through and talked about the history of the planet.

Then we stopped at Bens cookies on the way home and I got dark chocolate chunk! Scrumptious!

Then I took a much needed hour nap before a group of us headed to dinner at Wagamama where I got miso soup because I still wasn't hungry. after that we got dressed up and headed to Soho which was a lot of fun!

Sunday morning I woke up and met up with my awesome best friend Jessica who has been studying abroad here as well! We started off at Leicester Square and walked through china town! We ate a Chinese restaurant called Lido and it was delicious! It won't be a surprise to anyone that I got Cashew Chicken :) then we stopped at a Chinese bakery and I got some sort of peanut butter cream roll which was to die for!

Then we walked through a few bookshops, went through covent garden, stopped for a free cup of tea and then just kept walking!

We ended up on the other side of London and it took me a half hour to get back on the Tube! After working on my homework for a bit in the library a few of us went out in search of Mexican food! My friend Emily found an awesome place called Lupita and we got some delicious tacos!

I spent the rest of the night getting some work done in preparation for a busy week!

Cheers :)
