Comic Con, Greenwich and Food OH MY!
This weekend was absolutely wonderful :) I definitely crossed quite a few things off my bucket list!
I spent 10 and a half hours at London Film and Comic Con! It was stellar! I had never been to a Comic Con and it was an incredible new experience! I stood in line from 7am until 9am. I made quite a few friends in line and discovered that I might be the least nerdy person in the room (which I can't say has happened to me before) and then we were allowed in! I went to a talk in the morning with Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew (R2D2 and Chewbacca from Star Wars) It was very cool to hear them talk about how wonderful Sir Alec Guiness and Harrison Ford were to work with!
I walked around for quite a bit and saw plenty of crazy costumes!
There was a ton of really cool shopping, and it was definitely a money eater for any serious fans. I managed to get myself out with only one little thing….A gorgeous one of a kind Charm Bracelet from Canvas Warriors :) I got to pick all of my own charms from my favorite things and they put it all together in a few hours! I am putting up plenty of pictures so you can share in my excitement :)
I walked around in circles for quite a bit trying to entertain myself, eventually I sat with a few other girls waiting for the Morton Instruments. I was actually a bit old for this crowd, apparently there is a new wave of fans that just started reading the books because of the movie, ugh there always is :P But they were cute and loved the book so I was happy to chat. I ended up reading a book on the Kindle to kill time, and then finally the panel started!
It was so freaking cool, people asked Jamie and Cassie really interesting questions and then they showed us an exclusive scene from the movie. It was perfect! The scene showed how spectacular the movie is going to be and I literally cannot wait!
Afterwards we waited in line for a bit, and I got my book signed!!! I seriously couldn't be happier, they were both so sweet in person and asked me questions and I forgot everything that I meant to say, super starstruck!! Also there was free cake, so auto winning?
I finally headed home and then after having only eaten a protein bar and a banana it seemed like dinner time! My friends Megan, Jason and I introduced ourselves to the new students for Session C and we all went for Italian food. I got a scrumptious mushroom pizza and then promptly passed out at 930pm.
This morning I woke up extremely well rested and Megan and I headed to Greenwich! My wondrous sister Jaclyn gave me a typed three page extremely specific itinerary on what to do in Greenwich (where she stayed a mere 3 years ago!) I followed everything to a tee and got to see some truly spectacular stuff!
We started at Paul Rhodes Bakery, and had a delightful Scone with Clotted Cream and Jam….AHmazing! No joke best scone ever!
Then we walked by the boat, Cutty Sark which is super duper old and so beautiful! We walked along the Thames and then enjoyed some time sitting in the grass.
We went to the blue domes designed by Christopher Wren, pre-St Pauls Cathedral, and walked through a courtyard that a ton of movies had been filmed in!
Then we went into the most beautiful garden and walked up an extremely steep and exhausting hill. But when we made it to the top it was exhilarating, the view of London was unmatched and completely worth every second. We could see all of London and it was just perfect.
We also got to do something very special at the top of that hill… Be in two hemispheres at once! It was so cool straddling the line and being on the Prime Meridian and Greenwich Mean time and all that Jazz. T
We headed down to the Greenwich Market and walked around all the stalls. I got a delicious Crepe filled with Cheese, Spinach and Mushrooms and then grabbed an Oreo Cupcake to go!
After we got back we stopped in our local Pub Builders Arms and thoroughly enjoyed watching Andy Murray win for the Brits for the first time since 1936! The pub exploded and people were screaming, who knew the British people had a decibel level above formally appropriate!
We went to Salsa for dinner and enjoyed Happy Hour with some delicious Fajitas!
I ate my cupcake when I got back and it was straight up deadly, I'm about to go into a sugar coma!
Really excited for this week with tons planned, and I start my photography class, so hopefully some great blogs in the future!
Love,
Alexa
